My roles as Planning Engineer are;
Daily monitoring of SOU(strategic operation unit) performance (Budget vs Actual)
Layout/Design preparation for operation( Conceptual plan, stope layout, primary development, drilling layout e.t.c)
Provide solution to operational difficulties encountered.
Monitor health of the section( critical ends, developed reserves, drilled resources, undeveloped stope, status/history of the stope e.t.c)
 Implementation and monitoring of cost saving projects in section.
Audit of operation and ensuring implementation of planned layout/design. (underground visit 3 times a week)
Co-ordinate with Geology, geotechnical, hydrogeology, survey and Operations to update technical information of section.

Working on a Project a project: Optimisation of drilling and Blasting for COP F&D of Nchanga Open Pits.

Familiarization with Operations and supervision underground.
Roles
 Ensure safety of men in execution of their duties in their respective sections.
 Maintain high levels of discipline in the section.
 Plan for jobs and training of men to enhance safe and efficient realization of targets.
 Development end drilling (Mechanized).
 Stope drilling, Charging and Blasting.
 Tramming, both trackless and tracked
