I've owned Sneakers Computers (Courtenay) for over 5 years now. We are the island's first eco-friendly computer store with a range of power-saving and less polluting products for sale (which save you money on your hydro bill). We also recycle as much equipment as possible, donating computers to not-for-profit organizations and charities as well as to families who cannot afford a computer. The environment is everyone's concern, and we are pleased to be able to offer the customer a viable alternative to other stores.

Non-profit charities such as the Baha'is often require a staff member to fill several positions. Originally hired as a graphic designer and printer, I embraced the advent of computers in the office and was responsible for their implementation and support throughout the building. With the advent of desktop publishing this became a marriage of the two main sides of my work. Despite this being a religious charity, it was a decidedly high-pressure job as we strove to raise awareness of the plight of the Baha'is in Iran.

Orac specialised in sales to government departments, especially the Ministry Of Defence. As such my role was to advise on systems, implement and train staff in a range of high-profile offices such as the Ministry of Defence Press Office and other departments and locations requiring a higher than average security clearance to enter.

Teaching English and computers in a totally different environment sure opens your eyes to a different way of approaching challenges and concepts! Also served as a lecturer in Xuzhou Medical College.

Pen!etics makes high-end software for the medical industry - their software runs the Mayo Clinic. My role was to offer technical support to customers, run the company's network and purchase hardware. A further role as a multimedia designer was added as the company produced an interactive DVD entitled "The Promise Of All Ages"
