C.E.R.T./Community Emergency Response Team, part of the Virginia Citizen Corps programming is a grant funded program through the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and is intended to teach disaster related skills training to citizens in the Tazewell County, Virginia. Trained citizens can assist when disasters strike. Tazewell County, Virginia was among the first counties in the Southwest Virginia region to initiate this program and to divise the N.E.R.T., Neighborhood Emergency Response Team in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.

The goal of the Richlands Business Incubator is to provide new and existing small businesses with management assistance, cost effective space, and a nurturing, professional environment, thereby encouraging the development of local businesses which can; > contribute to the general economic health of the region; > provide new and increased job opportunities; and add to the variety of products and services available to the area
