What a fun job! Managed production, development, and delivery of Census 2000 marketing materials for Atlanta region, comprising Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Served as only visual information liaison between Bureau and partners (approx. 3,000) comprising local/state government agencies, nonprofits, and corporations within Atlanta region. Met the promotional demands of senior management, over 70 Partnership specialists, and partners within region by utilizing graphics software to produce creative marketing materials and products (i.e., presentations, brochures, design for mugs, etc.). In addition... appointed assistant coordinator of exciting national outreach effort, Census 2000 Road Tour, on a local and regional level. Primary responsibilities were tour schedule, logistics, and procurement. Represented Bureau at other special events and supervised event staff of up to 6 employees (as well as department periodically). Organized Census 2000 participation in annual North Florida festival and supervised event staff (approx. 150,000 festival attendees). Managed $500K promotional budget, plus budgets allotted for 2 special “in-kind” initiatives. Received a Census Special Achievement Award for my assistance in the coordination of “in-kind” initiatives. Collected and reviewed bids for promotional product purchasing and printing. Negotiated exceptional costs with vendors for quick turnarounds. As a result, established positive relationships with local vendors. Managed production of regional newsletter, Partnership 2000 Networks (circ: 3,000), including layout, design, writing, and editing.
