I analyze all sales to identify growth opportunities, develop strategies and action plans to achieve the desired goal of driving sales. I drive sales by consistently promoting in-store events, institutional business, national programs, special events programming, and all community outreach. I create and maintain quality relations with schools, educators, non-profit arts and literacy organizations, as well as the media. I identify business opportunities by conducting research within the community. I am adept at public relations and marketing. I handle all outside community relations in order to build a strong rapport in our community, thus creating sales. In 2011, I increased our institutional volume over 100,000.
For the past year and a half, I have trained 15 new community relations managers for the southeast region, boosting my experience and knowledge of managerial skills and training others.
For the past four years, I have sat on the steering committee for the Louisiana State Book Festival, where I market and promote an event for 22,000+ attendees, with over 100 authors. I I have successfully increased attendance and sales for the 4 years that I have handled the authors, product, financials, and the entire LA State Book Festival Book sales. I have successfully cut payroll each year on this, increasing profits for both Barnes & Noble as well as the LA State Book Festival.
For over 5 years, I have sat on the steering committee for One Book, One Community, which is a city wide read to inspire dialogue and change in our community. I have successfully chosen titles that inspire and create positive change in the Greater Baton Rouge area.I have created marketing and promotional pieces, as well as brought in the authors that will effect change, at a minimal cost. I have been involved in all of the finances of that organization as well, and plan and orchestrate the main author event for the entire community.
